A System Built on Leftover Bread

Published

Leftover bread, starch-based bioplastic, wood

All Bread is a circular design project that transforms leftover bread into snacks and packaging.

Through research with local bakeries and material experimentation, the project explores ways to make better use of bread waste generated during production. Larger pieces are shaped into bite-sized snacks using custom cutting and stamping tools, while starch extracted from leftover bread is developed into bioplastic packaging. The system extends beyond the products themselves, bringing them back into the community through a local pop-up stand.

Combining food design, material innovation, and a playful eating experience, All Bread gives discarded bread a second life while making sustainable choices more accessible and enjoyable.
