Terracotta ceramic, cotton cord

Traditional money boxes were often broken open once they were full, making the end of saving feel like a small ritual. Unlace takes this familiar moment and translates it into a gentler, repeatable gesture.

Two identical ceramic halves are stitched together with cotton cord, keeping the coins deliberately out of reach. Instead of opening a lid whenever you like, you wait until the box is full, then slowly undo the lacing to reveal what has been saved.

The act of untying extends the anticipation of that final moment, preserving the excitement of finally opening the box while allowing the ritual to begin again.
