Lumen

Lumen is a compact navigation device that sits in a camera’s hot shoe and guides photographers by light rather than destination.

Designed for people beginning to explore street photography, it responds to a common challenge: knowing when the light is good is one thing, knowing where it will fall in a city is another. That understanding usually comes through years of walking, observing, and learning how sunlight moves across streets and buildings.

Using location and sun-position data, Lumen continuously identifies the direction of the most promising light. A minimal LCD interface translates this into a simple arrow, allowing photographers to follow the light while moving through the city.

Rather than helping users optimise a single shoot, Lumen is designed to gradually build a stronger intuition for reading light.
